A hard day's work! part 2 of 2 - 4/2/11)

Today we decided that since it is so pretty we would spend the day doing yard work! We got up and got dressed and headed outside. Before going out, Olivia insisted on the 'squirt squirt' which is my body splash. I had already acted like I had squirted her, but that wasn't enough. She wanted more! Look at that look she is giving me! Seriously?!?!

She is literally hanging from the vanity trying to get it! She didn't climb the drawers. She hoisted herself up with just her arms! She is strong!!! She had pulled herself up higher, but when she saw me with my camera she became more interested in it then the body splash.

She loves to play on our scales everyday! I think she is fascinated with the big numbers that blink! I on the other hand am not so fascinated by those numbers!

We got outside and before we started working Annelyn and Grammy stopped by to play for a bit. I got out the play doh and bubbles first. After playing 52 pick up with the girls throwing the play doh off the deck we moved on to blocks. While Annelyn made patterns, Olivia decided she would rather take her jacket on and off. She worked on this for quite sometime!

They stayed for lunch and then it was nap time!

After nap, we went out to mark off where the new fence is going to be. Our yard is already fenced in since we have a pool, but seeing as Olivia is a monkey, we are thinking about installing a 2nd fence only around the pool area. Olivia was a great helper as John sprayed off places, put pvc pipe in as stakes, and the measured it!

When she would get the can of paint, she would make the spray sound on her own since she couldn't figure out how John got it to spray! It sounded pretty accurate! :)

After getting everything marked off and measured, she stopped to smell the flowers.

Oscar enjoyed being outside with us, too! He just relaxed in the sunshine!

The day was coming to an end and it was time to clean up. We are looking forward to another gorgeous day tomorrow. As you can tell by the pictures, we have A LOT of work to do out there!

After a quick shoulder ride, our day was done outside and we were headed to Lowes!

  1. Ok the picture of John and Olivia walking is PRICELESS!!!! What a sweet daddy/daughter picture! That will DEFINITELY have to be shown at any major events (graduation,wedding,etc.).

  2. I love getting daily updates. You guys are such an awesome family! Love you! Can't wait to hang out this week!
