Sunday--first time to church!

Sunday morning, we got up and got ready to go to church for the first time! Of course we were late. Surprise, surprise, but we wanted to miss the meet and greet so this was somewhat done on purpose.

Yes, she looks cute in this dress, but no, she didn't wear it. We didn't have shoes to go with it. Problem solved! Monday we went down to Lizards and Lace. :) She will be able to wear the dress this coming Sunday!
Upon entering church I could see her face change. When we got out of the car, she was signing "eat." She must have been hungry even though she had a great breakfast. Church is at 11:00 a.m. and we do usually have snack about that time, so she was telling us what she wanted!
She immediately looked overwhelmed in the large sanctuary. We sat down behind my parents and she sat right between us. We stood up for the hymn and I held her the rest of the time. She was occupied with her puffs and yogurt bites. We had them in one of the cups that keep the food from spilling and we did see a few puffs fly! Great entertainment for those around us. After the hymn, they discussed prayers and praises and asked us to stand with Olivia. I don't recall that ever happening, but then we don't have that many couples that have recently adopted in our church. We stood and the congregation applauded! Many of them know how long our wait was and everything we endured prior to adoption, so having her there was such a blessing! The service continued and she slowly fell asleep. I have to be honest, I have no clue what the service was about. I paid so much attention to Olivia that I couldn't begin to tell you anything besides the fact that our preacher had taken a benadryl for his allergies. Awful that I didn't listen, I know! She just looked so cute and sweet! I was getting great snuggles and took full advantage! :)

After church, we grabbed a quick picture out front just to document our first time going to church as a family. This is the same church we were married in 6 1/2 years ago! As we stood there holding her, I remembered standing in that very spot on our wedding day.

She looks completely annoyed in this picture, but she had literally just woken up!

We continued with our normal Sunday routine. This was a first since I was sick last week and before that we weren't getting out much. We went to John's grandfather's for lunch, but kept the visit short.

She loves to play in laundry hampers! She thought it was a great game. John's grandfather (103 years old) just thinks Olivia is adorable. He wanted her to come to him so badly!

We then came home to take a nap. One was had by all--except John. She came into me on the couch when she woke up from her nap and obviously wanted to snooze a bit more. :)

After our naps we played and then ordered pizza for dinner. She ate more than me!!!

I tried piggies for Olivia's hair just to see what they would look like. Yes, it kills me that the ponytail holders are two different colors, but we were just playing to see if she had enough hair for piggies.

Ok....I know she is mine, but how cute is that?!?!? It is hard to see her hair because it is so dark, but you can kinda see it. Love it!!! There is nothing sweeter than a little girl with pig tails!

After dinner we gave Olivia a bath, played a bit more and then headed to bed. I did get all of her winter stuff pulled out of her closet and put into totes and put spring/summer in the closet! Yay!! Come on warm weather!!!! It was a great day!

And how sweet that after her nap she decided to nap some more with you. :) So glad you are slowly getting back into your normal routine. Before you know it, things will be back to the way they were before Olivia came except now Olivia is here!! :) YAY!!! Oh - how is the new sleeping going (putting her back in the bed)?
