The last few minutes before....

Dear Olivia,

Right now, your foster mom is preparing you to leave the only place you have ever known as home. She is taking you and your things and coming to the agency. She is doing this because she loves you. She is bringing you to your forever family. We know your heart will hurt and you will be sad. My heart hurts for you. I have dreaded this moment for quite sometime, but also looked forward to it. I want you to know that you are always welcome to ask as many questions about Korea that you want. I will give you teh best answers that I know. I want you to know that this is your home country. I have tried to take it all in so I can, one day, share it with you. I want you to know the traditions and customs here. It is part of who you are. We will come back to see your foster mom because she will always be a part of you. She helped you survive your first year of life. She loved you. Your birth mother also loved you. You are one lucky girl to have three mama's! However, today, I know how truly blessed and lucky I am. I am bringing home a sweet baby from Korea. I have waited a long time to be a mommy, and today you are making me one! I hope you know that I will always be here to talk to, cry to, and to love you. We both hurt for you at this moment. We will share it all with you when you ask. You will know that Seoul Korea is a beautiful place. I love you!

For this child I have prayed.

Love,.
Your forever mommy

  9. Laura, you have constantly been on my mind. I wondered about your night with your new daughter at the hotel. I wondered how she did and if you got any sleep? I wondered if you just sat and watched Olivia sleep. I used to watch my boys sleep when I first brought them home. Sometimes I still go in their rooms and just sit and watch them sleep. I think about how much I love them and how special they are. I imagined that you did this with Olivia your first night with her. Your dreams have finally come true. Congratulations to all of you!! Be safe and we will see you soon. Much Love, Cindy and Carter Brown
