Day 5 in Korea

Well, today wasn't nearly as warm as they predicted, but we had fun none the less! We started our day by going to shop at Insadong. These are places for the more traditional Korean items. When we were walking we saw this tin man guy....no clue what he belongs to, but I thought he was cute!

We walked around part of it but didn't do all of it, so we will return if we have time. We knew we wanted to go to the Korean War Memorial today, so we decided to leave shopping and head over to the memorial. Before leaving Insadong, I ate not one, but two cream puffs as advised by a friend. They were yummy!

We took a cab over to the memorial where we spent the rest of the afternoon. There was so much to see!

We saw these soldiers coming in to view the museum as we were walking in. There were a coupld of groups there to walk through. I don't know if it was a right of passage or a form of training????

The explanation of the large drum pictured above.

The flags represent the different countries that fought in the Korean War to help S. Korea

This large "tear drop" contains some of the many dog tags that belonged to people who lost their lives in the Korean War.

Once we finished here, we got a taxi and headed over to Lotte World. This is Korea's Disney. We walked around the mall area and ate a nice dinner at a place called Pino Pasta.

This place is amazing! It had an ice skating rink, rides above, shopping in the middle, a hotel to the side, restaurants at the top and a department store!!!!!
